What is (SIL) Supported Independent Living?

Supported Independent Living, or SIL, refers to a type of support that enables individuals to live as independently as possible. This support involves assisting and/or overseeing daily tasks to help develop the skills necessary for independent living.

In Newcastle, Supported Independent Living providers offer services to participants in their homes, as well as in shared or individual living arrangements. The level of assistance provided is determined by the individual’s support needs and is outlined in their NDIS plan.
